Introduction of Bahrain



Bahrain, a group of 33 islands, with an area of 770 square kilometers, is situated in the Arabian Gulf, off the east coast of Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain is a leading tourist destination in the Middle East. Visitors flock to its high-quality shopping, entertainment and sporting venues. The 26 kilometer Bahrain-Saudi causeway has made the island a leading destination amongst Gulf nationals. The global reach of Bahrain International Airport is now making tourists from across the world come and experience the 'Island of Golden Smiles".

Arabic is the official language, although English is widely understood and it is used by most businesses. Islam is the religion of Bahrain and is practiced by a large majority. Places of worship of other faiths exist in the country.
